Enhances Safety in ER and Keeps Workers Employed

As the COVID-19 pandemic took hold earlier this year, Mark Pasveer, owner of Exterior Cladding Systems, Inc., looked for creative ways to keep his business open and his workers employed. He noticed that plexiglass shields were being installed in the grocery stores and had an idea. "We put our heads together and thought of ways to adapt our designs to provide protection in the community, especially for first responders and those on the front lines," said Pasveer. "Social distancing will be with us for a while, and anywhere there is a counter, protection will be needed."
Pasveer visited Corona Regional Medical Center and noticed just how open the area was. He offered to transform its Emergency Room check-in area — at no cost. After taking measurements, his employees got to work, designing and installing the plexiglass shields. Extra safety precautions were taken during installation to protect both hospital staff and Pasveer’s employees.
The hospital is thrilled with the finished product and Pasveer has booked other business in the community. "It worked out perfectly for my employees because they are able to keep their jobs, and we are offering a much-needed product to the community," he said.
